Night's Watch Copper Token
A unique token given to Brothers of the Night's Watch
- Solid copper
- Stylized crow and text "Brother. Night's Watch"
- Sword for rangers, hammer for builders, spade for stewards, design element to represent The Wall
- 1.25" (3.2 cm) diameter
Only a small number of these tokens were ever minted. They were given to the most senior brothers of the Night’s Watch and would be passed down to younger brothers for acts of courage, honor, or commitment to the order of the Night’s Watch. The small number of tokens were lost over time and the tradition faded away. From a time long past when taking the black was a great honor, steeped in valor. These non-monetary tokens were minted at Winterfell and sent to the Wall to help bolster morale and a sense of brotherhood. Not many of these coins have survived and customs surrounding them is not clearly known.

Our Process
Shire Post Mint coins are struck one at a time in West Fork, Arkansas, USA using solid metals, hand-engraved designs, antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. For antiqued coins, the coloring/patina process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science so coins will vary slightly. Our unique packaging includes a description of each coin and translations if applicable.
We collaborate with many artists to create our coins. Learn more about our artists.
