New France Coins
Beginning in 1534, the French colonized the middle part of North America in the name of King Louis XIV, calling it, La Louisiane with the entire claimed territory known as Nouvelle-France. We issue these commemorative colonial pieces to celebrate the history of the colony in coins that could conceivably have existed.
