Balon Greyjoy Silver Stag
King of Salt and Rock
Balon Greyjoy, father of Theon and Asha, declared himself King of the Iron Islands during the War of the Five Kings. As an Iron Islander, Balon followed the Old Ways of taking property by force, so this coin was probably minted on top of old Aerys II Targaryen silver Stags that were stolen during a raid. The coin features a crowned Balon, claiming kingship, holding an axe and a great pearl, symbolizing his mastery over the sea. The reverse has the Kraken sigil of House Greyjoy. A Stag is worth 7 Stars, or 56 copper Pennies.

Our Process
Shire Post Mint coins are struck one at a time in West Fork, Arkansas, USA using solid metals, hand-engraved designs, antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. For antiqued coins, the coloring/patina process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science so coins will vary slightly. Our unique packaging includes a description of each coin and translations if applicable.
