Titanium Bullion Thermochromic
Ti, Element #22
Titanium is highly resistant to chemical attack and has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal. This is a sample of .999 commercially pure, grade 2 titanium in the form of a square periodic table entry. One side shows the simple entry, as seen on classroom walls, showing the atomic number (22), the atomic weight (47.87), the symbol (Ti), and the name (titanium).
-
Solid titanium 9 grams
- 1 inch or 2.5 cm width
On the other side is a more complete entry providing additional technical information including the melting point, density, purity, electron configuration and sample weight of the sample. On the right hand side is the circular Bohr model of the atom.
If we take an example weight of 9 grams, convert that to moles, and multiply by Avogadro’s number, you’re getting an astounding 11.3222 × 1022, or 11 octilion titanium atoms! Now that’s value!
Laser Thermochromic Coloring
A proprietary process developed in-house. Each hue is equal to a different temperature of laser beam application that produces a colored oxide layer. This coloring will not wear off as it is harder than the raw titanium itself.

Our Process
Shire Post Mint coins are struck one at a time in West Fork, Arkansas, USA using solid metals, hand-engraved designs, antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. For antiqued coins, the coloring/patina process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science so coins will vary slightly. Our unique packaging includes a description of each coin and translations if applicable.
We collaborate with many artists to create our coins. Learn more about our artists.
