House Baratheon Set of Four Coins

Sale price$30.00

Ours is the Fury

The youngest of the Great Houses, House Baratheon was formed when their founder, Orys Baratheon, slew the last Storm King in service to Aegon I Targaryen. That was hundreds of years ago, and Robert Baratheon has since seized the Seven Kingdoms from Targaryen rule. This set of coins features unique depictions of the last four Baratheons to claim the Iron Throne, each with the stag sigil of House Baratheon.

Includes:

Robert Baratheon Copper Star

Robert I Baratheon took the Iron Throne from Aerys II Targaryen, the Mad King, in the war that would be named Robert's Rebellion. The seven-pointed star on the reverse symbolizes the Faith of the Seven, the dominant religion, and also represents the denomination of the coin for the illiterate: seven copper Stars are worth one silver Stag.

Joffrey Baratheon Golden Dragon

Joffrey Baratheon was king on the Iron Throne after his father, Robert Baratheon. Joffrey's reign incited multiple rebellions throughout Westeros culminating in The War of the Five Kings. He was known for his cruelty and brashness. The coin reverse features the stag and the lion, the sigils of Joffrey's parent houses, and "Oldtown", where the coin was minted.

Stannis Baratheon Half-Dragon

Stannis, younger brother of Robert Baratheon, rebelled against Joffrey Baratheon after Robert's death, claiming that the Throne should have gone to himself. This coin features the flaming-heart-and-stag sigil that he takes as his own.

Tommen Baratheon Half-Penny

Tommen Baratheon, The Boy King, took the throne after his brother Joffrey died. He soon wed Margaery Tyrell. Although quite young, he seems to have a kinder spirit than Joffrey did.
