  • Mokume-gane (木目金) coin
  • Weighs 16 grams
  • Measures 1.25 inches (32mm) in diameter

If you're looking for some extra luck, look no further. This mokume-gane coin features vintage engravings of a four-leaf clover and a horseshoe. The packaging includes some history about how each came to be so symbolic of luck. Each coin is packed in its own wax-sealed "foldy" and stowed inside of a coin envelope for a tactile opening experience.

Mokume-gane is a Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns, as well as that laminate itself. Mokume-gane translates closely to "wood grain metal" or "wood eye metal" and describes the way metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain. Our stock is a layered metal of copper, brass, and nickel - each coin has a unique pattern due to the folding techniques used.
